Having a plan for our homes is a simple way to prepare for the unexpected. Anything can disrupt how we live in Tāmaki Makaurau including severe weather conditions and the impacts of climate change causing flooding, slips and power cuts. There's also tornadoes and earthquakes too.
A plan for our home considers both the place we call home and everyone who stays there, including our pets. This plan should also include knowing when it's time to leave home to stay safe, and where to go to keep everyone safe.

○ Does your address flood when there's lots of rain?
○ Does anyone need help getting in or out of your home?
○ Does anyone rely on electricity for their health care?
○ Are things outside tied down or brought inside?
○ Have you checked your drains and gutters are clear?
○ Do you know where to turn off the power and water?
